C&CI has closed at the end of April 2013.

A new non-profit company is being established to offer vital concrete technology services to the construction industry including:

• Advisory Service
• Consulting
• Publications

The new company will be funded by AfriSam, Lafarge, and Sephaku and will begin operations on Thursday 2 May 2013 at the following address:

The Concrete Institute Information Centre in Midrand, Gauteng houses special collections on all aspects of concrete technology and offers users and specifiers of this versatile building material a unique and free service. The Information Centre catalogue can be searched by using the facility at the top right-hand corner of this page.

The Information Centre has available: 

  • Over 45 000 pamphlets and technical reports 
  • More than 4 000 books including the latest conferences and symposia 
  • 120 local and overseas periodicals 
  • Collections of South African, British, American and European specifications

Search Tips
● Use the drop-down menu above to search the database

● The Keyword option will search all fields concurrently, giving more results (and a wider result set)

● Punctuation is ignored in searches to improve search results

● When searching the Author field for an author whose surname contains a prefix or suffix (e.g. van der Merwe or de Beer) use only the root or main part of the surname (i.e. Merwe or Beer)

● The search automatically searches anywhere within a field - there is no need to use any boolean functions nor special markup characters when searching

● Use the Search within results option to narrow search results down. Use multiple words to return more refined results. For example, typing 'concrete practice report' will return more relevant results than typing just 'report'.
